In the future days, whih we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world fonnded upon four essential human freedoms:
THE FIRST is freedom of speeLh and expressionùeverywhere in the world.
THE SECOND is freedom of every person to worship God in his own wayùeverywhere in the world.
THE THIRD is freedom from wantùwhich, translated into world terms, means economic understandings whih will serure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitantsùeverywhere in the world.
THE FOURH is freedom from fearùwhih, translated info world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to suh a point and in su a thorough fashion tbat no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighborùanywhere in the world.
